Dengue Fever

VIETNAM | Wednesday, 7 May 2008 | Views [266]

I was in Vietnam, on my way to Indonesia, when I fell ill with a high fever. My first thought was malaria, so during a stopover in Singapore I saw a doctor, but he said I was fine. I continued on my journey to Indonesia but I still felt bloody awful, my fever had not subsided in five days and I was sure something was seriously wrong. A doctor in Bangor, Indonesia, ran some blood tests: I had dengue fever.

How World Nomads helped

Two nights in hospital in Indonesia and further blood work. (Medical expenses totalled $525.40, but policy had a $100 excess.)

CLAIM PAID AUD $425.40
