After a long walk out, on the road to 1770, I took a turn and headed towards a quiet beach. I walked back quietly along the ever eroding beach, with trees uprooted all the way along, from the 3 bad storms lasting 4-10 days each, in just 5 - 6 weeks. What a difference a day or 2 makes! It wasn't just here that received 3 long bad batterings, but the majority of the Queensland an NSW east coasts!

On my first night in Agnes Waters, I took a walk around in pitch black night, on the semi slippery path, in the hostel yard. On the way back to the light, I came across my first, in pitch black night, with my very first very large, ugly, poisonous, pesty Cane Toad. I met lots of along the way, out in every weather. most were small and moving fast, but this was and slow to moving, posing for my camera.

During yet another heavy downpour, through yet another week of storms, roads cut off to get out of town, a praying mantis comes into the hostel, possibly to escape the flooding rain. It has one leg missing, which was somehow torn right off, a few meters away.
