In Fiji, luxuries, such as ice cream are unseen by many people who live in remote places, often without electricity and running water! Trying ice cream for the first time, this little village boy thought he was in heaven!

Many unseen interior regions and villages are places of incredible mystery and intrigue in Fiji. Abounding in splendor, these places are the gateway to discovering the spirit of Fiji – the tenacity and strength of the people! This teenage girl, after walking for 7 hours up difficult mountain terrain, in excruciatingly hot, humid conditions, slips over in a stinky mud pit and yet is still able to laugh at herself and her situation, regardless of her weariness and unpleasant predicament! Fijian’s have this amazing, uncanny ability to laugh at themselves in all situations - now that’s spirit!

The unseen heart of Fiji is found in the strength of family! Family is the heartbeat, the pulse, and the breath of life in Fiji. It is the place where grandparents, parents, children aunties, uncles, cousins, second cousins and twice removed cousins are all warmly embraced and welcomed! Family is the life-force in Fiji and Fijians do anything and everything they can to help their family when they are in need.
