The power of ideas

Here at World Nomads we live for ideas: dream up stuff, design and produce it and see what happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But more often than not we find we learn something or achieve something that none of us ever expected, predicted or anticipated.
That's fun when you run a business
Most business conferences we get invited to are ... sigh, tedious. Even when they sound interesting and we go they end up being full of self-serving execs trying to promote their companies. But TED, now that's different. For those of you uninitiated, open up iTunes, go to the iTunes store and type "TED" into the search box. Download the video's and audio interviews: I guess this is the mondern day renaissance.
Their web site is www.ted.com for more information, but the media plays better from iTunes.
This is about the only conference on the planet I'd want to go to ... but the catch is, when it started out a few years ago it was invite only, and now that more people know about it, you can apply but it is VASTLY over-subscribed and they are already full for 07 and 08.
So, before I die of old age, I think I'll start this post as an online petition to the organisers to get me invited. If you think the IDEA of footprints is worth spreading then add your name to the comments below and we'll see if we can collect a few ...
