Jesus and the rocketship

GREECE | Tuesday, 16 October 2007 | Views [464]

On this trip Riu has, to my horror, become interested in Jesus. He babbles on incessantly with questions that just don't stop causing much mirth with other travellers who don't have to answer the blessed things. In a church on Santorini:

Riu: "Dad, I can see Jesus"
Dad: "errrr ..."
Riu: "Dad, are there many Jesus?"
Dad: "No, just the one"
Riu: "How did he get here before us?" (He'd already seen Jesus on Crete).
Dad: "On his rocketship"

Pause.

Riu: "Is it fast?"
Dad: "Yes, very fast"
Riu: "Faster than the boat?"
Dad: "Yes".
Riu: "Faster than the plane?"
Dad: "Yes, very fast".

Another pause. Change of topic.

Riu: "What's on the house?"
Dad: "It's a solar panel."
Riu: "Why is it on the roof?"
Dad: "Because that is where the sun is most of the time."
Riu: "Why?"
Dad: "Well, because the sun comes up from there, goes over the top and down over there."
Riu: "Why?"
Dad: "Because the earth goes around the sun?"
Riu: "Dad, where does the sun come from?"

Laughter from other bus passengers.
