Green Mountain

COSTA RICA | Saturday, 11 April 2009 | Views [342]

Today we head over to Monteverde for forest activities. It's a 3.5 hour, mainly dirt road, drive around Largo Arenal for those of us with a hire car or a 2 hour Jeep-Boat-Jeep ride for everyone else. What do I mean by Jeep-Boat-Jeep? Well take a guess - it's a journey with rugged terrain either side of a lake. Got it? Although our option takes longer, we get some great views of the lake and we find a German bakery along the way for a nutritious Apple Strudel breakfast.

By the time we arrive in St. Elena (neighboring town to Monteverde) and check into the Pensione (hostel) we've missed the majority of the day's activities which start first thing in the morning. There's an evening walk through the forest we can join, or we can go for dinner and drinks...
