Costs pp: van Lican Ray to Panguipulli 1200p, bus to Osorno 4000p, double bed room at Residential Ortega (with WiFi), Colon 602 near the terminal 10,000p 2ppl.

We were lucky to find a place to stay quite quickly, Yolanda at the Residential Ortega is lovely and gave us a good discount on her usual rates. Its a good area to stay as there is street food and supermarkets right there. Our room had cable tv so we watched some movies too.

22/9 We caught a bus across the border back into Argentina to a place called Bariloche. The trip was through beautiful countryside and on the Argentine side past some stunning lakes and mountains. The snow was still on the grounds in the passes. We had no problems at customs although Carol got her pack searched. Our old problem struck again and our bus got a flat tyre on route but was soon sorted and on the road again.

We wound all the way down one side of lago Nahuel Huapi viewing San Carlos de Bariloche on the other side when we got to the end of it before driving along the eastern end and into the town itself. It is a town similar or reminiscent of Queenstown and in a quite spectacular setting.
