My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a graduate student studying architecture, which is also studying design and how you represent ideas and space. These questions about representation can be directly correlated to photography and capturing a place. Photography has always been a hobby of mine and I have taken a couple of classes in high school, but it hasn’t been until recently that photography has played a more prominent role because it is a tool I use for school. Lighting, composition, photo quality, etc. are important skills in photography as well as design. However, the best learning tool I have found is first hand experience. Experience and an eagerness to learn through mistakes are the richest tools and often the most rewarding experiences. This chance to learn, explore, meet people in Oman and ultimately experience life is an opportunity that I am eager for! Not only would it be an amazingly rich opportunity to see a unique part of the world, but it is also such a unique educational opportunity for me. Being able represent a place full of life and emotions of a trip is a difficult task, but the tools gained would be an extremely valuable learning experience!
