My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Morocco | Friday, January 4, 2013 | 5 photos

My curiosity made me sneak in the not-so-secret place where my older brother had his Yashica 108. Pocket money secretly spent on film and notebooks was the only way I could get away with that machine and start producing clear and stable images without being noticed at home. Once achieved the first still and clear pic you can´t stop. You buy books (to my parents' surprise), talk to local professionals at their shops, do tutorials online, learn lots of software, visit expert forums, travel over 20 countries, buy old cameras and never ever give up until you are happy with the image produced (and nobody told you to do any of that!). When I realized, I am 31, I've been taking pictures for 20 years, have a website, have won a National Geographic award (UK travelers' edition 2012) as the most relevant thing, have pics in a gallery... blabla... but never ever made a living on what I love the most. I´m not a novice nor a pro but I´m easygoing, committed, respectful and like working having fun. I want to learn documentary photography to show this world in a personal and professional way no matter what (weather, wildlife, locals) and I will do it. Please teach me and help me to start. Thanks.
