    at Koh Haa - super gorgeous weather and seas for lo's birthday!! Views[1129] i am loving this longtail boat - how can you not, with a name like 'happy boat'??     Blue Planet shop in Saladan - with Lo out front. Views[1480] ok; one more of the monkey. Views[1517] Lo at Macaroni, an italian restaurant on koh samui owned by friends of his, tom and cecilia - the best pasta i've had since sandra cooked for me! Views[1942] And....me at Macaroni. i cannot express with mere words how great it was to have red wine - GOOD red wine - again. its a scarce commodity on lanta. so...if you're planning on coming out here - make sure you bring me a bottle! Views[2949] At the full moon party on koh phan ngan last month....we got there at 11pm and got back to our bungalow on koh samui around 8:30am.....you take a speedboat back and forth; they run all night.     Also at the full moon party - definately a lot of fun though i spent a lot of time chasing after a drunken and dance-addicted lo....! Views[2000] I'm pretty sure you can figure out where this one was taken - my token tourist shot proving my attendance!! Views[1261] Again, from the pool in front of our room...this was what it was like for a good week straight. Just havent' been this happy in AGES! Views[640] Out front of our room in phuket - little did i realize at this point that i'd be flying to paris in less than a week, and be living on lanta in a month's time! Views[634] The front room of the resort we stayed at our last night in Phuket - the place was incredible....we had a bathtub that could literally fit 4 people easily, and out front there was our own private little (shallow...unfortunately!) pool.     And me on the edge of the tub - in a seriously sucky mood...SO overtired - that feeling of not wanting to waste a minute with someone doing something like SLEEPING....made me very sleep deprived and cranky. Views[716] Taken from our bedroom window - these 2 cows were just going in circles around lo's truck. I love having cows for neighbours~! Views[889] Home sweet home. I actually caught myself thinking 'i can't wait to get home' on the long minibus trip back from koh samui - a sign that i'm settling in just fine, i think!     Views[497] A double of a pic already posted, this one compliments of Kate and James! Taken at the Tingtong bar. Views[527] Across the table ~ the new crew~ Stefan (France), Kate (Bowen Island ~ homegrown girl!!) and Mike (New Zealand) Views[509] Rice whiskey ~ imported from Laos, where its a specialty. Its almost always bottled with snakes, centipedes, scorpions etc inside. Very odd, the bar we were at brought it out for us to look at. Views[509] Now, I'm sure someone can help me out here. What is this thing I'm smoking called? Gypsy, I KNOW you know this. Anyways, it was very smooth, fruity, easy for even this non-smoker to handle. And thats really saying something....     This is the water we got dunked in...we rode the elephants into the river, and a little ways down, they sprayed us and then knelt down to tumble us into the water. Swimming with the elephants..who'da thunk it?? Views[473] Myself, Kate, and Liz ~ about 5 minutes before the downpour forced us all to retreat to the little bamboo hut at the back of the TingTong bar. Views[425] Me and my elephant! I love that she's smiling here...I thing she was just glad to be back where she could eat, uninterrupted. Of the massive quantities of food they eat each day, only 20% is used by the animal ~ the rest, literally, goes right through them. One of the many expenses of keeping elephants!! Views[456] Liz and Mike at the hot springs. Views[462] Liz and I, enjoying this delicious hot ginger tea you could buy for 10baht. Served up in sections of bamboo...out of huge cast iron vats, bubbling over fire. Views[479]
     
    Two of the new 'group' James and Mike ~ well on the way to being wasted. Views[466] We rode our motorbikes out to these amazing hotsprings...here I am at the source way up top. Super steamy, and a definative smell of sulfur. But SO NEAT. Further down the pools, of course, the water cools off and you can bathe in it. But here, you can literally boil eggs in the water. Views[598] The group, all huddled together at the back of the TingTong bar ~ forced here by a random and unexpected shower. So great to sit around on pillows, drinking and listening to the rain hitting the corrugated tin roof. Good times. (james,me,stefan,mike,basil,kate,liz,random british couple) Views[478] The exhale. I have my left finger up because it was meant to be the SIGNAL that I was about to exhale ~ the idea being, we could catch the puff of smoke on camera. Didn't work so well, AND I look ridiculous. Views[474] Unfortunately blurry because the damn camera was set on macro mode....a good lesson, i'll never forget to return it to a regular mode again.... Regardless, this is Liz and I on our elephant. I'm sure I can get a better picture off their camera later... Views[449]

    Me at CKS Intl. Airport, very bored. I was there from about 12midnight until my flight to Singapore, about 7am. Ha ha, and also ~ you can see up my nose! (but I still like this pic....)
