Hi Lani,The other day I went to the Middle and Near East Museum in Tokyo. Loved the section on Chinese bronzework from 2 thousand BC. But in the Egyptian section they had-of all things-a mummified Ibis. No bull! Apparently the Ibis is revered for something or other. Anyway, there it was. Personally I`m not that grossed out by bones or anything. In Japan they used to bury people in big earthern jars. Their bodies would often be curled up a bit like a foetis to fit in. Don`t know if the foetis thing was a connection they made or not though.
