My Scholarship entry - Beauty in the mud

I am a child from a mixed marriage - my mother is Bulgarian and my dad is Syrian. I was born in Bulgaria, and lived in Sofia, its capital, for 18 years. Well, I have never lived in Syria, though when was younger, and in fact when the country was not said to be in war, I would spent my summer vacations there. Thus, since 2011, when the Arab Spring reached my father's country of origin, my parents announced that our (mine and my brother's) vacations in Syria came to an end. Hey, wait! This was not fair...hmm, who cares, right? However, this summer we (my family) made the impossible- we went to Syria... The pictures that I am uploading are from this year. Would like to let more people know that life is going on there...It is tough, I will not lie...but there is dynamics that generates beauty in the mud.
