My Travels

This is a day by day journal, so in the future I can look back and reflect on my experiences and those I have shared them with.

Yep I know I look ridiculous but a least I was dry on the Jet Boat

Yep I know I look ridiculous but a least I was dry on the Jet Boat

Arrived at Queenstown in good time and checked into the hostel.  Decided to check into a dormitory in a nice hostel called Deco.  At the back it has a lovely view over Lake Wakatipu.

It since it was only about midday, and I could only get into my room at 3pm I decided to have a look around the town.  It’s a great place, and it had that summertime ski resort feel about it. (which is not surprising as in the winter you can ski here)  The summertime activities here are amazing....so many to choose from.  So to begin with I booked a jet boat which took me (and several others) around Lake Wakatipu and rivers.  It was amazing.  The guy driving this thing raced us up the river at about 80kmph.  The rivers in place are very shallow, so shallow you could see the bottom.  In the deeper areas he would turn the boat into a tight 360.  This sent water everywhere...so despite looking pretty stupid in the waterproofs they had provided...I was glad.  Since the couple next to me were drenched.

Went out in the evening with one of the guys from the hostel.  Ended up in the Irish Bar and met up with a few other travellers.  Still not drinking as I’m still on antibiotics.

The famous Fergburger!!!...it's a bit of an animal...Deer as it happens
