A major thunderstorm hit Bali that night, so this combined with the music from the adjacent bars….I didn’t get the best night’s sleep. My driver turned up at 6:45am this morning. I had already spoken to the owner of the boat first thing and he had informed me that the boat wasn’t leaving until further notice. So my driver patiently waited outside my room for the storm to pass…I went back to bed.
Once the rain had cleared I was speeding across the waters on the speedboat heading for Gili Trawangan. It was a welcome relief to see the sun and the clear blue waters as the boat got closer.
Again it was a busy time for the island too, but I did manage to find somewhere to stay. I later went out with a few people I’d met previously on the boat.
