Hired some bicycles and rode to a volcanic crater lake called Boeng Yeak Loam (or something like that) We relaxed for a few hours, taking the occasional dip in the clear blue waters to cool off from the midday sun. Tried one of the local drinks; a type of rice wine which is made of various types of herbs and fermented rice and is kept in an earthenware jar and drank through bamboo straws. Not bad actually, a nice change from Lau Lau!
Later cycled for miles trying to find a local ethnic village (There are quite a few around here apparently). Never found it, just more dirt roads....somewhat more demanding on a push bike than a motorbike.
With our faces and clothes covered in orange/red dirt again we headed back and joined Barbera-Jean (from NY/LA) and Nimi (from Israel), in a French cafe.
Can’t recall what else happened today....obviously nothing much
