My Travels

This is a day by day journal, so in the future I can look back and reflect on my experiences and those I have shared them with.

Got up in good time to check myself into some alternative bungalows overlooking the river.  I hired a bike and spent the day exploring the surrounding countryside and villages.  The scenery here is amazing and hopefully the photos sum it up.   Bumped into Aussie Tim in the caves and gave him a ‘buggy’ back on my bike….much to the amusement of the villagers who we passed.  Laughter and calls of “Falang” (Laos for westerner) were only too common as we bumbled along the roads…very funny!

I went off and explored further and came across some people playing volleyball.  Joined in a played a few games.  Great fun, and I think they were please that had someone tall on their side.

Hung out for the rest of the evening, taking in the views from the terrace.  It’s a tough life.

Memorable Points:  Exploring the countryside, playing the locals at volleyball, cycling through the villages
