My Travels

This is a day by day journal, so in the future I can look back and reflect on my experiences and those I have shared them with.

Yangshuo

CHINA | Saturday, 1 November 2008 | Views [81]

Felt pretty crap most of the morning since of the night before's antics.

Finally felt human again about midday and hired a bike for the afternoon to explore the neigbouring countryside.  It started to rain pretty much as soon as I set off.

Despite the rain I had a great afternoon cycling around the rivers and villages that lay in the valleys of Yangshuo.  One of the paths came to abrupt stop since the river crossed it, and the only way over was by a bamboo raft.  I didn't have any small change to pay the boatman, but fortunately some Chinese tourists paid for me.  I continued my ride round many of the local sighteeing spots via the back routes before ending my day back in Yangshuo.

Met Hannah and Catherine; two of the girls from The Wall trek later this evening for a drink.

Memborable Points: Exploring the Yangshuo countryside and meeting the locals
