My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Crossing the Attabad Lake to get home.
In January 2010, a huge landslide in Attabad village (the Gojal Valley, north Pakistan) created a natural dam for the Hunza River what resulted in forming an extensive lake. Present, the landscape is breathtaking – turquoise surface enclosed within steep, cut through by narrow waterfall hillsides with appearing here and there flooded green oasis. However this beautiful phenomena is linked to a human tragedy. Those who wants to reach upper part of rescued villages have to travel there by boats. You won’t find the delight by the beauty on their faces. They still remember that their former houses are under this water. Pakistani government did nothing to help them.
Who cares for the people from the lost paradise?
