A day of adventure. We booked ourselves a Thai Jungle Tour last night but due to translation difficulties we didn't really know the full itinerary or details until the day began. We were booked for an 8:30am pick up and so our hotel delivered us by speedboat to the pickup point at Ao-Nang the bay next door. We presumed that we would be on a group tour but were very presently surprised to be met by a late model Toyota 4x4 for the day. Picked up our guide and we were off. Just the two of us, feeling very special.

First stop an Elephant trek through the Jungle. Great fun to be up close and personal with such a magnificent pachyderm. Mahoot Nic made a very quick connection with Elsa the Elephant and soon took over the reins when our original chauffeur became our camera man. We tipped Elsa with two bunches of bananas then it was off to the Emerald pool named for the beautiful coloured water. We swam and wandered through the jungle for an hour to another warm blue pool (aptly named) then had a lovely Thai lunch.

The next stop was a remarkable hot springs with the rock pools made smooth from the copper in the water. Nature at it's best.

Our final stop was the underwhelming Tiger Cave Temple. Evidently it's quite a special place to the locals and once did contain a tiger but this most famous temple in Krabi province was not for us. There were lots of fun monkeys around, so not a total waste of time!

We decided to wander through the town of Ao-Nang on the way home and this led us to walk the 100 metre Thai Massage Gauntlet – it's a marathon of massage beds and locals waiting to offer their services. We had already booked two massages at the hotel so we had to the response of 'no thanks' on continuous replay.

On arrival back at the hotel we had a late dinner and then off to bed. We keep going back to the same restaurant, because it's so good and so cheap... just like us!
