A Strange Fondness for England...

UNITED KINGDOM | Tuesday, 2 October 2007 | Views [294]

maybe it's just because it's the day before I leave and so I'm feeling a bit sentimental... but today even though it's grey and a bit wet outside I did feel a strange rush of fondness for England particularly in autumn when the leaves are changing and the colours are so pretty.  I decided to go for a walk in Happy Valley/Coulsdon Common, which are 10 mins away from where I am and where my favourite country pub is.  I like the smell of autumn and the way everything is dying in the most beautiful way possible in tones of gold and red.  I always get a bit like this before I go anywhere and feel a bit sad to be leaving the place I'm in... but nevermind - Mexico here I come!
