My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 5 photos

India is a nation full of diversity, the railway stations also provide a testimony to this fact. This set is based on the less fortunate people in India, but the ones i have met in trains and railway stations during my travel to various parts of India. We see them everywhere, but nobody bothers to take care of them, thus my this set is based on these people of the railways, these people have no existence without railways for us, but still they are the ones who haven't received back anything yet.
The lady in the first photo is a beggar at the station. The second person in the picture is a Muslim cleric returning from Ramzaan celebration in Delhi. The third photo is a Hindu Saadhu returning from a trip to Haridwar having a dip in the holy Ganges. The fourth photo is of a girl doing the famous Indian rope walking trick and presenting a street-show on a beach. The last photo is of a temple in Chennai i visited during my internship. Every photo has a story and there is a special connection in between me and my collection, because of the bonding i have with my camera. So displaying my work just not only includes the final output photos, but also a description as to why i clicked that photo, the philosophy of that photo. So, i believe in this mantra of life that its just not the end product that matters, but the whole journey is where the beauty is. I am a hobby photographer right now and a student of Mechanical engineering. but i wish to continue with photography as a passion, as a tool to discover new places, meet new people and develop newer eXeperiences. ( i publish my blog under the name eXeperience photography, Anubhav means experience in Hindi )
