the mayor of essen took an entirely unnecessary amount of time out of his day and our lives to explain the many and varied points of interest in Essen and the wider Ruhrgebiet. Unfortunately, he was boring and we couldn't understand him. He did give us coffee and nice biscuits at the end though. lovely man.
