I arrived home from work the other night and put the key in the door. A snake appeared out from under my front door. I logically jumped back about three feet. It advanced and hissed so I moved back again.
My neighbour noticed what was happening and while it was a snake it was also small. however although I had heard there are no lethal animals here I was not really wanting a snake bite of any kind. Also lets face it any animal appearing suddenly freaks me out.
The neighbour old me we just needed a large rock. I was thinking more like broom to encourage it to move away while maintaining my distance. She was thinking of big rock on its head. As it was she threw the rock which cut it in half and splattered blood everywhere, she then threw rocks at what was left of it to try to get its head as it was still moving.
All up quite violent and gross. I of course thanked her and entered the house to check everywhere for its mates.
Luckily no others so far.
