I forgot to mention that in the taxi from Visakhapatnam we travelled along a motorway, the first one I have seen in India. The motorway had two lanes in each direction with a concrete border seperating the different directions. Rather than drive in the opposite direction in which they wish to go and then do a U turn when available the drivers will drive the wrong way down the motorway until they have a chance to cross onto the other side. No one was surprised, they just tooted their horns but what's new? There was also cyclists driving down the wrong way and farmers herding their animals. No one seemed hugely concerned by the highway code.
