We gassed up and hit the road ignoring the speed limits as they seamed inappropriate. We made good time to Byron Bay, nearly being overtaken by a raging inferno of a bush fire, but the rain was quicker, it was here when we arrived…Shit!! We needed a place to spend the night and Rick found us a motel with seaview although it was already dark. It was extremely expensive; one night would cost $195,- and we had to pay a bond of $400,-! Are you CRAZY mate? Debs didn't want to pay that amount cos you know it by now; Dutch go bargains! We found a really great camp site. Excellent facilities and really clean 2 mins from the town centre. ‘Glen Villa’ we highly recommend it. We had to pay $30,- a night with electric.
We spend two nights so far and killing time and rain by having coffees, eating and shopping cos the rain is still here. We visited the Art Factory. Great facilities, good food, cinema and facilities for holistic practises like yoga. At this moment we're sitting here in their lounge updating this blog and waiting for the sun to come out......
Debs: I want to thank everybody who made the effort to read about our journey so far. I wish you all the best. Also regards of Rick
PS Larsan, gecondoleerd met het heengaan van Chico, R.I.P under the tree. X
