….Next stop on the pacific highway was a terrible mistake: Billabong Koala Park, shocking conditions and really dull don’t bother,the park needs reptiles and chickens to make it more attractive. We continue till we reach Nambucca Heads, gorgeous, very picturesque, excellent ocean viewing points, a graffitied breakwater and white sand beaches as far as the eye can see. We have a coffee and meet Casey, she has been working in London and is home to see her mum. She offers great information for our next stop off, ‘The Promised land’. "Call in and see the guys at the Federal Hotel in Bellingen they will give you directions” she says. We did, they did, it was worth the time out a glorious wilderness of freshwater creeks and trails that made the ‘Dirt Biker’ in me scream with joy if only I had packed my trusty XR400.....
