Hello there, we are Debs and Rick, an Officer and a Gentleman on a very short visit of Australia.
Debs is an Officer in the Dutch Army living in Zetten, Holland. I am a Landscape Designer living in Tavistock in the West of England. we have known each other for a couple of years and we both needed a break form the monotony of our regular lives, so we decided we should take a trip, but where? Australia was a first choice for me as, it would allow me to see a much loved little brother who has settled here with his family and to see my nieces, the youngest of two whom I had not yet met.
So during a visit to Debs in June of this year we arranged the 6 week trip in order to see for ourselves just what it has to offer, so we started the journey from Schipol (Amsterdam)on the 31st August and arrived in Sydney on the 1st Sept, we have spent some time with the family and looked around the city. We have been surprised by what we have seen, firstly what got our attention was the location, a great modern waterside city, clean and very cosmopolitan, however the sheer abundance of all races except Australian was a shock that we are still reeling from. The weather looked good at first but has gradually worsened to the point of being decidedly British…..Rain Rain and more rain.
