Potsdam

GERMANY | Wednesday, 28 October 2009 | Views [34]

Hi All,

Some german from the hostel cheat sheet. 'Danke fur den ausritt in ihrem streifenwagen' - many thanks for the ride in your patrol car :-)

Figured out why they have posters of David Hasselhoff at the hostel. He sung his hit song 'looking for freedom' at the brandenburg gate on new years eve 1989. Hit in Germay at least. Not quite sure if it is a running joke or they actually like it. Check it out on youtube.

Day trip out to Potsdam. The German version of Versailles. Only a short ride on the train out to the town from Berlin. Very beautiful walking in the Sansoucci park gardens with their autumn colours and cover of fallen leaves.

Heading off to somewhere new tomorrow. Weather will decide the destination but it should be up to Hamburg. A bit of a struggle not to go straight down to Baveria but we figure that we probably won't be back up to the north of Germany once we head south so better give it a chance.

Bye,

David and Vanessa
