Delft and Leiden

NETHERLANDS | Saturday, 17 October 2009 | Views [33]

Hi All,

I was determined to get our itinerary sorted out with our contact in Russia today and spent a lot of time chatting with Uylana and going through iterations until finally arriving at what appears to be a viable travel plan.

Vanessa went out to Delft and Leiden for a bit of exploring and I wandered around the local historic area and even found a windmill a couple of streets back from the main canal. The cost of a decent barge according to one of the locals I bumped into on the walk is about 200,000 Euro. Will have to keep an eye out for a good iconic windmill. Surely they will be a bit cheaper :-) This place is full of surprises.

Heading to Belgium tomorrow. The independant contiki tour continues...

Bye,

David and Vanessa
