Calabazita = courgette

Garbanzo = chickpea

Cubo de caldo de pollo = cube of chicken broth

 

Nopal = a comestible cactus

Piquete de zancudo = mosquitoe bite

Despedida de soltero = girls’ party before getting married

Naco = a person who acts badly, from the street, who tags, spits, dresses a bit like a punk but listens to salsa and banda music.

Chollo = a person who dresses in large pants and top, with hair sticking upright on his head, most importantly : who is dangerous, carries knives or guns and aggresses people (luckily I’ve met none and they tend to stay in Guadalajara periphery).

Chingar = a verb used for almost anything

Chingo = can mean “mucho”

Buey = idiot

Arrabalera = of low standard
