Seeing Soweto

About bigj

Whilst walking the streets of Soweto, people were welcoming us into their homes even though they did not know us, it was really amazing. We were invited into a shack by a mother, her children were so shy, but I was lucky to snap this pic of her daughter.

I am a driven person who has a passion for photography. I studied graphic design and during this period found my passion for taking pictures. I love capturing moments that may have been missed and to bring others closer to the action or scenario being captured.I am fascinated by journalistic photographers and photography.

I live in a country with such an intense history, a country that gave the world insight into icons of struggle and inequality, who fought for their rights. Such people include Nelson Mandela. Many famous photographers hail from these shores and seeing their works since a young age also inspired me a great deal.

I am intrigued by photos taken of places and people, that tell stories and draw me to not only want to visit these places, but to inspire me to try and achieve shots of my own that will have the same responses with others. I believe I should be chosen because of my passion and enthusiasm, my love to capture images that capture others hearts and emotions.
