Kampong Cham - 12 April 2007

Kids at street party.
We were scheduled to be picked up by a bus from the hotel at 7am. Our bus from Siem Reap to Kampong Cham was at 7:30am from the bus station across town.
So... we slept in till 6am thinking we'd have plenty of time to pack. I was still in the shower when the tour guy came around tapping on doors and telling us to get out to the bus now (6:25am) because it was waiting. We hurriedly packed everything up, and got out the door. Hoping we hadn't forgot anything.
We walked out the front of the hotel and no one was there! The tour leader came scurrying around the corner giggling... apparently he'd forgotten to count everyone and it wasn't until someone else told him that he realised that Charlie and I weren't there. So helpful.
We had a lovely 5 and a half hour bus ride to get here... with a few stops. Half the girls are refusing to use the toilets at the bus stations because they're dirty. I've seen worse. I've also never seen so much hand sanitiser stuff come out... these girls don't even try to wash their hands, they just use the sanitiser. I told them that its probably better to do both if they're that worried.... but they won't even touch the basins. Seriously... I've seen toilets in Sydney that are worse.
We had lunch at the only restaurant that is open... and I'm sure I'll be back there for dinner. It's not too bad... and the guy at the next table looks like he's been dead for a while. He's not moving.
