RCMP Heritage Centre. I want one of these. If you're male, you need a moustache to drive one of these. Even the dummy in the car had a moustache.
Regina is a nice quiet little place in the middle of a huge grassy field (this grassy field extends as far as the eye can see in pretty much every direction).
I knew nothing about the place, except that it was a good half-way-ish stop between Calgary and Winnipeg and had a hostel. It's nice that I can stop and have a shower. Fellow travellers also appreciate this also.
I met a really cool fellow on the bus/in the bus station who lives in Regina (having fled the US) and raved about it's many features. It's nice to meet a local (even the imported locals) who can tell you quite enthusiastically about the sights of the town.
So, I went for a walk (around 4km in the heat from the hostel to the RCMP Depot) to get my exercise, and spent the day wandering around the RCMP Heritage Centre. It's pretty fabulous and entertaining, with stories about the past, present and future of the RCMP. It's kind of inspiring. So inspiring that I bought myself a lid. I haven't worn it yet - don't want to get it backpacker dirty. It's time will come. :)
I met some cool Aussies from Queensland in the hostel too. I seriously need to start asking people what their names are.
