Before it became a popular touristic destination for being used as a location for many movies, in the village of Ait Ben Haddou people lived in the old houses of the kasbah and used to look at the sunset from the rooftops while having a tea or just a friendly chat. Now nobody can stay inside the touristic area after the sunset but, as the surveillance is not very strict, somebody leaps over the walls to enjoy this ritual anyway.
