Finally midnight arrives and we countdown to the new year. The fireworks are spectacular and seem to go on forever…hugs and kisses all round and then the realisation of the task ahead as we all head off to get our respective modes of transport home….what a nightmare we spend the next 2 hours at least pacing the streets looking for the unlikely cab or bus that would get us back to drummoyne to the seemingly distant comfort of the van. Eventually we spot a bus and arrive back in drummoyne at 4am to find that the van isn’t that comfortable after all as I had parked it on a slope….still arrived back safely that’s the main thing.
