My Scholarship entry - The Road to Machu Picchu

I am a student of Spanish and English Literature spending a year abroad in Peru, immersing myself in Peruvian culture and photographing all the natural beauties that this country has to offer. Since I was a child watching David Attenborough with my Grandpa I've had a huge passion for the Amazon Rainforest. This developed into a motivation for conserving and documenting the world's most beautiful and invaluable natural resource. I have been continually inspired by National Geographic, and it is my dream to eventually work for the publication. Being mentored by Jason Edwards himself would be a huge honour. I'm creative, hard-working and tough. I would get so much out of this experience and would not leave the rain forest without achieving the very best results. This is the perfect assignment for me!
