Defining Happiness

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Botswana | Wednesday, June 26, 2013 | 5 photos

I'm attempting a career change. Mad some would but the older I've got I realise that its more important to love what you do. My name is Alyson and I currently live in Cape Town. I went to 8 schools across 3 countries and 5 different cities. My vast interest in travel started with photographs that my father showed me when I was 5, snapshots of the flamingoes at Kenya's Lake Bogoria, the wildlife, places and various people. It made the world seem so large and the possibilities were endless - and still are. Two short years later we headed to Africa.
Since then I have travelled extensively for work, living in Africa, Asia and Europe. I am an Industrial Psychologist working primarily in management consulting. I believe that all of this - to find my way around quickly in new places, to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds, my work experience and professional background add to the way I continue to experience the world around me. This influences the way that I photograph and attempt to portray places, people and experiences in a narrative way. I have always succeeded at things I put my mind to ensuring that I deliver the best I can. I hope this helps me be chosen.
