Some Kind of Pilgrimage

Wild Music

UNITED KINGDOM | Thursday, 15 May 2014 | Views [204] | Scholarship Entry

You have to be strong to play the pipes outside in the cold wind. And a bit of a show off. If you're going to listen to Highland Bagpipes, get in close and close your eyes. This is a wild instrument that sings its songs through vibration deep inside your body.

She’s got amazing hair and is playing one of the ancient piebrochs and walking slowly by you'll feel the drones vibrating deep within you, carrying the labyrinthine melody straight to your heart.

What a gift it is, precious, fleeting, ringing like a rusty bell calling you to what? Battle, adventure, travel to the land of your dreams, to your one true love?

Song of the skateboarders past the window, a long barbed arrow chord over wet pavement.

What does the air taste like in Berlin? Is there really an Edinburgh, a Cardiff?
If I could touch their stones what would I learn? Would their stories flow into me like strong music willing me to dance and remember and sing?
