There are a few ways to get to and from the international airport (I don't know how to spell or pronounce the name of it)...
From the airport: Taxi with a meter - aournd 250 baht for the taxi depending on where you want to go. Taxi no meter - negotiated price which you might want if you have many people with many bags and want to travel all together anyway. We had 4 people with giant bags - all piled up on us. This might not be allowed in normal taxi meter.
To the airport: Same as above. Alternatively there is a minibus service for 100-130 baht a person which leaves every hour. You can book this from the travel services just off the Khao San Rd. I booked it from the Israeli place for 100baht. Service is from 9am-6pm only.
Not sure if there is a local bus or train.
Ciao for now.
