The Long & Winding Road

Karon Beach

We arrived in Phuket safely last night.  We headed down to Karon Beach from the airport because we wanted to avoid the crazyness of Pating Beach.  We arrived at the Boost Guesthouse in Karon Beach and met our hosts, Jerry the Kiwi and his wife Anni.  hey were both really cool.  We ended up playing a drinking game with Jerry, an Irish guy and an English guy.  Jerry got us pretty intoxicated with his dice.  He also gave me a shot of absinthe at the end of the game and I didnt know what it was untill after the shot.  I ended up yakking into my own hands.  Thanks a lot Jerry!  Called it a night after that.  Today I slept in pretty late.  We didnt do much today, we went down to the beautiful beach and just swam around and relaxed in beach chairs.  We ordered fruit smoothies and sandwiches to our chairs.  It was awesome.  I felt like a king.  After a whole day in the sun, we just kinda chilled out for a bit and then had an early night.  We decided we were going to head to Koh Phi Phi the next day after we got asked to buy a suit for the 1000th time that day.  The shopkeepers were so aggressive here.  Not a good vibe at all.  Plus the whole town was full of fat old guys driving their Thai girlfriends around on scooters.  Not our scene at all, and there were mostly package tourists there opposed to backpackers which is where all the fun usually is.
