My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Mogador Island out in the distance from Essaouria's windy beachfront as the sun starts making it's way down, a haven for kite surfers but brutal on the thatched umbrellas scattered along the shore.

A young seagull stares up at me curiously as he rides the winds blowing in from the Atlantic Ocean up the side of the Citadel walls, having his last moments of fun in the air before the havoc of the feeding frenzy as the boats come in with the days catch.

Seagulls dominate both land and air as the fishermen clean their catch in preparation to be sold to the local street vendors and restaurants. The beautiful seaside edge of the Medina glows brightly in the last moments of the days sun light while the seagull in the foreground has had his share judging by the feathers around his beak.
